When was the last time you saw or did an interesting or exciting presentation? Was it creative? Are you creative? You are about to do your first real presentation in class.
There is a certain level of expectations, after all, you are an Advanced English Student. However there are a few things that you have to take into account:
When you do a presentation in PowerPoint, take this into account. There are so many PowerPoint presentations that are just absolutely boring.

The webquest was helpful on how to make a PowerPoint more intresting and less dull. In the video it showed the classic mistkaes that are done by everyone,I myself do those boring PowerPoints that make people fall asleep. The blog Reading taught me that my left side of the brain is dominant and I am not as creative as I thought I was. Now I know how to give a well thought out PowerPoint without creating "Death by PowerPoint". The blog helped me think of a better way to present my PowerPoint.

I really liked the video because it told us how to make a PowerPoint presentation less boring. The video was easy to understand and it was funny. It taught us how to make presentations interesting and unique.
ReplyDeleteWe also read some tips about how to control our nervousness. I think they are very useful because when it comes down to talk in public everybody freaks out. We need to practice a lot and know by heart our topic so we can talk fluently and confident.
Also the article about being creative taught us that if you start thinking more outside your comfort zone, you have to put a little more effort and you´ll see that everybody can be creative.
I wanna comment about the life after death by power point, because is true a lot of people tend to put every word they are going to say on their slides, put moving fonts with small letters and the problem is that this kind of presentation don’t present an organization and structure clear only showing information about everything.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to be creative, you need suggest solution to the problem staring from every obvious answer and often going to the extreme. The creativity is for everyone.

Now I kind of know how to do a better Power Point Presentation without boring everyone whos watching my presentation. I loved the video, it was VERY funny and very entertaining with allot of creativity. But the test about creativity didn´t give me my results because I didnt buy some things in the store... I DONT LIKE IT!! But everything else was good and entertaining.

And I like art; I really recognized all the faces. I am a creative person.

I never do my presentation with this things, i always do my presentations with the format in the video of Youtube (Life After Death by Powerpoint 2010 by Don McMillan) and always the people was boring or sleeping.
But this links realy, realy are very interesting and useful for your life I think.
I like this kind of activities because I can be better in what I am doing. This exercise shows me that I can be creative if I want is only thing that I want it to be. I think that, to give a great presentation I have to remember what I dislike and be connected with the speech and passionate.

ReplyDeleteHi I think that the creativity is always on the people!!!! since childrens, the people have imagination and we can express what are they feeling!! but when we grow this skill or hability desapear or we forgot it, but we can found this skill or hability, when we are just like we really are. My topic will be about Travel and Travellers, I´ll be the presentation of the topic and not the powerpoint presentation itself. Using complete sentences in a presentation make it boring, so just using from 1 to 4 key word it´s best for not detouring the attention, using images, but not saturate it... i was thinking on using may be music but sometimes it is a distractor too, so i´ll make a test just to soo if its a good idea.

Ok, so from my point of view the video is a little bit outdated and therefore some of the common mistakes mentioned dont apply anymore. I think we is funny as a comedian, and believe that he really explained briefly the common mistakes as well as he coul have.
