The Final Stretch

Well we are getting near the end. So we need to sharpen our skills. I have been asking you to open your mind to new possibilities. To begin with, I need you to read this article and take some notes. Where do you agree? Where do you disagree? Tell me.

Once you have done that go here and find out what you need to make awesome presentations. pay attention, there are some tactical tips as well. Then, tell me which slide & tactical tips you find most challenging and why. Remember that the idea is for you to take a chance on creativity.

Here are some more ideas to enhance your presentations.

As you know, your assignment was to go to the MAC (Museo de Arte Contemporaneo) and take extensive notes on your impressions, and how you feel about what you saw. We do not need a list of what they are showing there, or the history of the museum. We need you to open, both, your heart and mind. Your presentation will be precisely about that. I will need to see your notes. Remember that you can NOT type your notes into your phone so as not to get distracted. Again, this presentation is a VERY PERSONAL deal.Don't be afraid! Don't cheat yourself out of this experience. Avoid short cuts.

From the Journals of Keith Haring.

"I don't think art is propaganda; it should be something that liberates the soul, provokes the imagination and encourages people to go further. It celebrates humanity instead of manipulating it." -Keith Haring

Now that you have read the post, and reviewed the links you will go to the comment section and leave an extensive comment on each question answering what has been asked.

  1. In my view , in general the article is well , I agree that these generations , because of what we live and grow with the technology are not doing anything and imagine, because of already having everything at hand with the internet, and everything becomes easy and we do not put a bit of our effort , is super important to have new and different ways of thinking , discover what we can get done, take risks and be a little more stupid and simple , stop being afraid of what people think or say about us, leave it on the other hand , have confidence in ourselves and accept ourselves as we are, and practice with ourselves in a mirror , open up more to the world and ourselves , knowing express and meet , learn to observe and see the world differently .

  2. On the first post in my opinion I agree because the intelligence is not only having good grades even if you have failed and exam it doesn´t means that you are not intelligent or idiot. However the education system is not made for the future in a way that we can use it on part of life so the challenge is change that daily crap that are having in these days being stricter, having more perceptions about education, stop saying that our teacher has the fault.

and the last question my challenge about slide and tactical tips would be avoid a lot of text because sometimes when I expose without text my ideas or information aren´t clear and I took longer to talk and my permormance decreases, the other challenge is put few slides is something that I have to do and not confound information between them

i practically agree with most of the tips, is true that large and small text in power point is boring and not at all interesting to the audience.
for me also is boring to see in a presentation the same old font; comics or times new roman, is a great idea to play with the fonts and colors, to give your presentation a good contrast and get the attention of the audience.

i also agree with the idea of using big, colorfull and interesting pictures and only using the main text that you really really need , to say the information you need to ssay and not writting it on the slide.

i agree that small font is boring and yopu will always lose the attention of the audience because they will not read a huge text
is important to write only the important words and you can explain what you want the audience to know.

I disagree with the idea of having a large presentation and a bunch of slides
i think that you dont need to have a big number of slides , just few of them and you can still have a great presentation.
is not about of the number of slides you design or make is about the information you have prepared to the audience.

i agree because is important the education is not good and we have to do something to clean or change the idea of this topic.
We have to take a time to think in all the things that we want to speak, practice more. For example in a mirror or recording our speech.
    A memorized speech never works.

  5. About the "A five-step guide to not being stupid" article, where I'm agree is the part of "Argue with yourself – and don’t pull the punches" and Imagine “what if…” I think it's funny putting yourself into that situations, for me it's the better way to be more creative and to be an open-mind person. I think, that being an open-mind person makes you creative , because you have more options, more habilities, imagination, etc.
Other thing that Ilike about the article was a frase that says "Intelligence isn’t a score on an IQ test – it’s the ability to figure what you want in life and finding ways to achieve that," because you can't measure intellingence in what you're studying, I think it's about what you learn in life everyday, and what you're interested to learn.
Where I'm disagree, is in "a new way to think" because it says that Sternberg and othersare are now campaigning for a new kind of education that teaches people how to think more effectively... I think that maybe just for a while thins kind of education will work, but it isn't bad being wrong or have mistakes... We all learn from our mistakes.

About the "10 tips on how to make slides that communicate your idea, from TED’s in-house expert" I think that all the tips aren't difficult, or challenging, because all the semester we were practicing with presentations, and now it isn't difficult for me.
